While children of all faiths and cultural backgrounds are welcomed, RECC is a ministry of Redeemer Church Manvel. Christian education is naturally part of each day—through mealtime prayers, songs about God, celebrations of key church seasons, and stories suited to young hearts and minds. Across the curriculum, Christian values are nurtured through Bible lessons, spiritual music, and everyday opportunities to practice Christlike character.

Our Curriculum

Ones

Our greatest priority for young toddlers is to provide loving, responsive care. Every child’s day is shaped around their individual needs while still following a general routine. Teachers respond attentively to each child’s cues for comfort, nourishment, play, and rest. The classroom is designed to be safe, soothing, and full of opportunities to explore and grow at one’s own pace. Families receive daily reports through Brightwheel sharing how their child’s day went—feedings, naps, activities, and special moments. We utilize the Frog Street Press curriculum with this age group.

Twos

Toddlers are full of energy and curiosity! Their classroom days balance active play with quieter moments for rest and reflection. Teachers thoughtfully choose toys and materials that match each child’s developmental stage and interests. Children move freely through a variety of learning centers—dramatic play, blocks, sensory activities, books, and hands-on manipulatives. Each day includes a group gathering time to sing, share, and build friendships, helping children grow both socially and cognitively. We utilize the Frog Street Press curriculum with this age group.

By age three, children are becoming more independent and eager to learn alongside their friends. Our Threes classrooms encourage exploration, creativity, and imagination within a warm and secure environment. Teachers introduce early learning concepts such as counting, letter recognition, and pre-writing skills through play and hands-on discovery. The classroom offers a growing variety of materials and centers to spark curiosity—giving children chances to work alone, in small groups, or as a whole class. Every activity helps build confidence, cooperation, and joy in learning. We utilize the Frog Street Press as well as the Learning Without Tears curriculum with this age group.

In Pre-K, children are preparing for the exciting transition to kindergarten. Our program nurtures both school readiness and personal independence. Learning centers and group times explore early literacy, math, and problem-solving through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Creativity continues to flourish through art, music, and dramatic play. Teachers also guide children in important life skills—caring for their belongings, following directions, and resolving conflicts kindly. Parents receive regular communication about their child’s progress and readiness for the next big step in their learning journey. We utilize the Learning Without Tears curriculum with this age group.

Pre-K4

KinderMath® KinderMath® is a comprehensive, yearlong math curriculum designed to place students at the center of their learning. Through hands-on partner games, interactive activities, and purposeful math conversations, students explore concepts, build confidence, and apply new skills with the teacher as a guide. This approach helps young learners develop a strong mathematical foundation through active engagement rather than passive instruction. The program aligns with public school scope and sequence expectations and meets all TEKS standards for kindergarten.

KinderLiteracy® KinderLiteracy® is a rich, text-centered literacy program built on the close-read model. Each week, students dive deeply into one high-quality piece of children’s literature, strengthening comprehension, vocabulary, and early literacy skills through carefully guided lessons. Like math, this program aligns with public school scope and sequence expectations and meets all TEKS standards for kindergarten.

Heggerty Phonemic Awareness To support early reading success, we use Heggerty’s Phonemic Awareness Curriculum—an ESSA-rated program known for its explicit instruction and systematic daily lessons. Heggerty ensures all students receive strong, research-based instruction in the foundational skills needed for reading.
